(A thread closed to cheetahs. Titles is meh, it's the binomial name for cheetahs, I decided that this would encourage you guys to make you cheetahs >D)
A small cheetah ran dashed through the crimson feilds of long savannah grass. Jumping high, the golden brown kit aimed high for a wandering butterfly, only to flip over in mid-air during the leap. Upon landing on the ground, he broke into a tumble, unable to stop rolling. Finally being stopped by a small rock, the adventurous lone feline lay sprawled out on the ground, legs and bottom up high in the air and head and forepaws stretched across the ground in front of him. Chocolate brown eyes sparkling, the motherless kitten rolled himself over, shaking the dust off his pelt before looking around. He had only been loose and free from the zoo for a short amount of time, and if it weren't for the world shifting, he wouldn't even be free.
Stomach growling slightly, Espresso looked harder, hardly able to remember the last filling meal he had. No, he didn't know how to hunt anything bigger than a rabbit, but maybe he could find a dead old carcas of something bigger, like a gazelle or a buffalo. Sticking his nose high into the air, the brown-eyed feline felt a fresh meaty scent hit his nose. It was a wonderful smell, one that made the cub's mouth water as he traced it, heading deeper into the crimson waves of grass and weeds. Soon enough, the golden brown furred cheetah spotted a somewhat recent zebra carcas laying underneath a tree. Flys had already found the meat, but that didn't stop Espresso from blindly rushing forwards. Even if it was someone else's catch, he would have to take the risk of intruding, it was the only way, right now.
Taking large mouthfuls of the meat, the former zoo creature tried to stuff as much of the zebra into his stomach in as fast a time as possible. He did realize that he had to leave as soon as possible, but decided it would be best to at least eat his fill if he was risking it anyways. Espresso had already been caught stealing once, that one time having been unknowingly, though. That was how he had learned about stealing, and he still had a somewhat fresh cut on his shoulder from that experience. And the worst part had been he had hardly gotten away with a scrap of meat in his stomach!
Gulping down another mouthful, the golden brown feline promised himself that this was his last mouthful, then he would leave. Pushing his black-rimmed muzzle back into the zebra carcas, Espresso tore off another peice only to hear pawsteps behind him. Brown eyes wide, he swallowed hard, only this time, it wasn't meat.
