Clover Among the Trees (Open)

The Chief Rabbit to be exact. Truth be told he had never really wanted the position, he was content to just be a guardian, but as it went he had come into the position by chance. However, since he was still a young rabbit he enjoyed patrolling and getting into mischief. Some mornings he could be found in the neighboring predator territories, munching cowslips. Some of the older and wiser members of his warren warned him about recklessness but he simply waved them off. He wasn't endangering the warren, only himself, and he was indeed replaceable. This moment found the mischievous Chief Rabbit gazing ruefully across the lush grass that was within his domain. Suppose he went deeper past the trees? Perhaps there was some sort of adventure to be found? He wouldn't have to be gone long, no not at all, he would just hop quickly over and come right back. He glanced over to where the Captain was feeding, the rabbit was giving him a stern look. Obviously knowing what Thrennion was thinking. "I'll be gone for only a second, old chap." Before the Captain could say anything Thrennion had dashed away towards the trees, away from the warren. He stopped only when the other warren-members were out of sight. Ah... It felt nice to get away. If the others needed advice they could consult the Captain and he doubted anything big would happen in the moments that he was gone. If he was wrong then his fellows could hide underground until he returned and he would lead off anything that threatened them. For now though he could sit in a patch of sunlight and nibble on the clover he had just found. Oh how he enjoyed clover! "I speak." I think. Tags: open Notes: --- Muse: 5/10 Words: 315
